She is the author of the acclaimed memoir I Rise: The Transformation of Toni Newman, which chronicles her journey of faith, resilience, and self-actualization as a Black trans woman in America. Toni is the Chair of the Board for TransCanWork and the Director of The Coalition for Justice and Equality Across Movements at NMAC in DC.
